CENTRAL'S CHOIR

John Beare on his retirement holding his “over 30 years” Certificate from the Methodist Church Music SocietyThirty Two Years of Song

Thirty-two years of song and music making were celebrated at Launceston Central Methodist Church on 10th February 2008 when choirmaster John Beare (centre front row) was presented with a personal gift and a long service certificate from the Methodist Church Music Society as an appreciation of his work. John became choirmaster in May 1973 and over the years he has been responsible for the exciting and varied music making at Central, from the weekly choir anthem to larger scale oratorios.

The photo, shows the choir with Choirmaster John Beare on his retirement holding his “over 30 years” Certificate from the Methodist Church Music Society.

The choir no longer meet for weekly practices, nor do they sit up and sing at Sunday services.

If a choir is needed for special services/occasions then interested members of the congregation will be invited to meet and practise for that occasion.
